ASSISTANT SEAMSTRESS

LEC Cayman Ltd, trading as The Village Sewing Center, is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and skilled Assistant Seamstress to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with garment alterations, sewing projects, and general workshop operations while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service. The Assistant Seamstress will support the seamstress team in the alteration, repair, and creation of garments and textile products. This role requires attention to detail, basic sewing skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with garment alterations, repairs, and custom sewing projects
• Operate sewing machines and other sewing equipment safely and efficiently
• Measure, cut, pin, and prepare fabrics according to specifications
• Assist in fitting garments and making necessary adjustments
• Perform basic hand sewing and finishing tasks
• Press, fold, and package completed garments and textile items
• Maintain sewing equipment and keep the work area clean and organized
• Organize fabrics, threads, and sewing supplies
• Follow instructions and quality standards for all sewing projects
• Provide courteous assistance to customers when required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in sewing, tailoring, or garment alterations is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of sewing techniques and fabric handling
• Ability to operate sewing machines and related equipment
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• With a clean police record
