DENVER A BARNES T/A DB CONSTRUCTION is looking for a skilled and reliable Mason to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying blocks, bricks, concrete, and other masonry materials for residential and commercial construction projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Measure and mark work areas according to project requirements. Mix mortar, cement, concrete, and other construction materials. Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other masonry materials. Construct walls, foundations, chimneys, walkways, and retaining structures. Cut and shape masonry materials using hand and power tools. Ensure masonry work is level, aligned, and structurally sound. Repair and restore damaged brickwork, stonework, and concrete surfaces. Install and finish joints using grouting and pointing techniques. Apply decorative and protective finishes to masonry surfaces. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Operate and maintain masonry tools, equipment, and machinery. Load, unload, and organize construction materials at the worksite. Follow all workplace health and safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other construction workers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas. Report material shortages, equipment issues, and project concerns to supervisors. Complete assigned tasks within project timelines and budget requirements. Perform other masonry and construction-related duties as assigned.
Have basic literacy and numeracy skills. Be physically fit and capable of performing manual construction work. Demonstrate knowledge of masonry techniques, tools, and safety procedures. Extensive knowledge of stone and related building materials, and the construction best practices for working with them. Math skills to calculate material needs and take accurate measurements. Ability to use trowels, masonry hammers, masonry saws, wire brushes, brick jointers, measuring lines, and other masonry tools. Analytical skills to understand blueprints. Spatial reasoning and observation skills to lay out forms and assess alignment. Ability to move heavy materials from one location to another. With a clean Police record.
