Underwriting Team Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Underwriting Team Manager to lead our underwriting teams including both the Saxon and Indigo brands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of going above and beyond in their leadership style, with extensive experience in managing and coaching a high-performing team. As the Underwriting Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the team's deliverables, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in underwriting processes, and identifying and resolving customer complaints effectively, all while managing scheduling for two locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of underwriters across two locations, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure team success, productivity and adherence to business standards.
• Implement and adjust team/individual goals in line with business needs and standards of service.
• Create training plan based on team needs as well as business development plans to include cross-training on various products.
• Oversee underwriting processes at both locations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines. This includes reviewing and approving new and renewal business.
• Be a senior point of reference on technical issues and non-standard risks.
• Complete audits to ensure team adherence to policies and procedures.
• Manage scheduling for underwriting team members across the two locations, ensuring appropriate coverage and efficient workflow in person and online.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency
• Identify and address customer complaints promptly and effectively, seeking resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Analyze underwriting data and trends to make informed decisions and improvements
• Daily cash reconciliation.
• Keep abreast of industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
• Perform ad hoc administrative duties as may be required.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree
• 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry
• 5+ years of experience in managing an underwriting team
• Strong business analysis & process management skills
• Proven track record of successfully leading and coaching a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Experience in managing scheduling or operations across multiple locations

Compensation USD $80-110,00 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Participation in generous company bonus scheme (post probation completion) Competitive benefits.
