ACCOUNTING & ADVISORY — GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS
Together we can make it happen! Berman Fisher is an advisory, accounting, and consulting firm based in the Cayman Islands.
We offer
A young and dynamic team
Exposure to a comprehensive client portfolio
The opportunity to help shape a firm-wide technology and automation agenda
We are looking for
We are looking for a driven and forward-thinking Senior Manager to join our Accounting and Advisory team. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA or ACA) who is genuinely enthusiastic about technology and automation, and who is comfortable using modern tools to make accounting and advisory work faster, cleaner and more insightful. This is an accounting and advisory leadership role first; strong hands-on technology skills are what will set you apart. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, providing the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. A strong client service focus is important, as is the ability to take ownership of your work and to lead and develop a team of accounting and advisory professionals. The role calls for someone who can think about how technology reshapes professional services and is happy to roll up their sleeves to deliver.
The role
Oversee and review the full spectrum of accounting deliverables, including management accounts, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, accruals and forecasting
Lead and review advisory engagements, ensuring quality, independence and adherence to professional standards
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline internal firm processes across accounting, advisory, billing and reporting, and help deliver those improvements
Where appropriate, help clients improve their own finance function, operating procedures and finance technology stack
Work with our technology resources to build and refine reporting dashboards, workflow automations and integrations between cloud platforms
Conduct client meetings to discuss financial performance and process improvement
Support business development, including contributing to proposals and helping showcase our technology and automation capabilities to clients
Coach, train and mentor staff on both accounting and technology skills
Act as a senior point of escalation for complex client matters
Requirements
Essential
An internationally recognized professional accountancy qualification (CPA, ACCA or ACA)
Minimum 8 years of incremental experience in accounting and/or advisory, ideally within a professional services environment
Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and/or US GAAP)
Ability to prepare a set of financial statements without a template
Proficiency with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
A genuine interest in technology and automation, and comfort learning and adopting new tools – with a proven track record of deploying efficiency tools
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Strong attention to detail and good time and priority management
A practical understanding of data security, controls and confidentiality in a regulated professional services environment
A commitment to quality and client service
Desirable (a strong plus, not required)
Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools (e.g. Power Automate, Zapier, Make or n8n)
Experience building reporting and analytics in Power BI, Tableau or similar
Familiarity with data tools such as Power Query, SQL or scripting languages (e.g. Python)
Experience with API-based integrations between accounting and operational systems
Experience with cloud app advisory and process mapping
Full-time – Job ID: X7R8W7
