Job Description

Morritt Properties Cayman Limited is pleased to invite applications for the position of Front Desk Supervisor from suitably qualified Caymanians, Status Holders, and those holders of Residency and Employment Rights Certificates. Position Title: Front Desk Supervisor Location: Morritt Properties, Grand Cayman The successful applicant will have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. The Front Desk Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the smooth and efficient operation of all aspects of the Front Office. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of Front Desk staff, overseeing reservations, creating staff schedules, ensuring guest satisfaction, and providing staff training and development. The role will also involve ensuring the team meets company standards and targets, particularly in relation to guest experience and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the Opera Property Management System and be familiar with the Time shareware program. Experience with night audits is highly desirable, as this role will involve handling financial reporting, balancing accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of guest charges during night shifts. In addition to managing daily operations, the Front Desk Supervisor will also be tasked with managing the Front Desk budget, ensuring that all activities are cost-effective while maintaining a high level of service. The ability to work independently and lead a team is critical, as the role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed. The successful applicant will also be expected to manage shift changes effectively and ensure that all front desk operations continue seamlessly during these times. A positive attitude, a willingness to go above and beyond for guests, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism are essential qualities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Front Desk staff and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Manage guest reservations, check-ins, and check-outs with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing inquiries, complaints, and requests in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Provide staff training, mentoring, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Handle the night audit process, including balancing the day's financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accuracy in guest billing.
  • Work within Front Desk budgets, managing resources effectively to control costs while delivering excellent service.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain and enforce the highest standards of presentation, including staff grooming and uniform standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency with Opera Property Management System and Time shareware program.
  • Night audit experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
  • The ability to manage and resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Well-groomed with a positive and professional attitude.

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
