Job Description

CI Precast Ltd is seeking a full-time, customer-oriented professional to work as a Delivery Truck Operator . The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering various precast concrete products island-wide to a variety of customers while providing excellent customer service, maintaining high quality-control standards, and safely operating company vehicles and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load precast products onto trucks for delivery as required, using a forklift or other approved loading equipment.
  • Safely operate company trucks to transport precast concrete products to various locations island-wide.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
  • Safely maneuver trucks on jobsites, including areas with uneven or unstable ground conditions, while being mindful of customers' property and equipment.
  • Assist with the safe unloading and placement of precast products at delivery locations.
  • Maintain telephone contact with the supervisor and dispatcher to receive delivery instructions, updates, and clarification when necessary.
  • Perform and record daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles, including checking engine oil, coolant, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other essential vehicle controls.
  • Immediately report any vehicle defects, damage, or mechanical concerns to management.
  • Ensure products are properly secured before transportation.
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the assigned truck clean and free of garbage and unnecessary materials.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, traffic regulations, and applicable transportation requirements.
  • Assist within the manufacturing plant between deliveries or during periods of downtime, as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Valid Group 4 driver's licence or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating trucks and/or other heavy commercial vehicles.
  • Experience transporting construction materials, concrete products, or other heavy loads would be an asset.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be physically capable of occasionally lifting and handling heavy items.
  • Must have a good driving record and demonstrate safe driving practices.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and possess good time-management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with management, coworkers, and customers.
  • Must be flexible regarding availability and willing to assist within the manufacturing plant between deliveries or during downtime.
