MAIN DUTIES

• Read blueprints or technical diagrams
• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
• Trace, Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
• Follow building regulations as stipulated by Electric Code
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
• Where appropriate, provide instruction and supervision to apprentices.
• Any other job- related duties as deemed necessary to provide customer satisfaction

Other tasks

• Highlight any problems to other members of the team to allow the appropriate action to be

taken.

• To maintain a clean and safe environment while working within an occupied property.
• Attend operational meetings and participate in training opportunities when requested.
• To promote equal opportunities and diversity in service delivery.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience With 5-6 years working experience as an Electrician

• Electrical qualification or equivalent with relevant work experience
• Testing and inspecting of newly installed equipment Ability to conduct tests and Inspection

qualifications

• A good communicator, working as part of a team to provide a professional, efficient and courteous

service.

• Ability to work on own initiative and plan regular duties.
• Must use judgment in hazardous and stressful situations, especially regarding emergency

procedures such as personal safety and the security of buildings and maintenance failures.

• Must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of a variety of systems in place
• A good understanding of risk assessment and general Health & Safety responsibilities
• Working closely with other construction team members and sub-contractors and use their

knowledge and experience to help resolve any problems arising in connection with their duties.

• Must possess a degree of self-motivation with the ability to prioritize and organize regular

duties.

• A good understanding of basic building techniques with ability to assess general maintenance

issues and take appropriate action, e.g. request repairs through or request specialist advice.

• May be required to respond to emergencies outside normal working times
• A clean driving license is required.
