Gallery Attendant / Multipurpose Associate

The Gallery Attendant / Multipurpose Associate will be responsible for ensuring that the gallery is clean and for assisting customers with custom framing orders and with the purchase and sale of artwork, while assisting wherever needed across several departments including cashier, sales floor, and custom framing.

Duties will include

Customer service

• Provide professional customer service while assisting customers with custom framing orders
• Assist with the purchase and sale of artwork, prepare sold artwork for shipment

Framing

• Assist in making and assembling costumer picture frames
• Measure and cut backing for picture frames
• Organize artwork orders or framing
• Frame and stretch canvas artwork for display in showroom
• Cut mats, glass and assemble for framing orders
• Mount hardware to create frame backing
• Assemble projects in workshop
• Use the Wizard software for framing design
• Chop and join frames, assembled all framing materials, dry mount
• Clean, maintain, and, when possible, repair shop equipment and tools
• Responsible for cutting & joining moldings and fitting artwork

Retail Sales

• Custom Frame Design using stocked moulding and matting
• Pick up, deliver and install for clients
• Thoughtfully hang artwork on display in showroom
• Assist customers with all retail sales, framing and printing questions

Inventory

• Enter and Track Inventory in EzFramer
• Unpacking and storing framing supplies
• Entering invoices into Quickbooks

Sales floor

• Assist sales associate on sales floor
• Assist customers in framing design options
• Perform opening and closing operations
• Help introduce other services offered at our facility such as photo scanning, art reproduction, fine art printing and photoshop services
• Assisting in organizing and managing the company website and social media platforms
• Distribute promotional materials
• Assist sales associate with the display of artwork for the public to admire and purchase
• Help physically setup and breakdown gallery exhibitions

The position requires

• Extensive customer service experience with proven sales ability
• Previous experience in recording & tracking inventory, organizing supplies
• Good communication and customer relational skills
• Excellent computer skills,
• Prior QuickBooks experience
