Job Description

GARY & LISA WHYTE'S CONSTRUCTION, HOME REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE is seeking a reliable, skilled, and hardworking Carpenter/Mason to join our team. We are looking for a motivated individual who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, follows safety procedures and works efficiently on a variety of residential and commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry and masonry work, including construction, repairs, renovations and maintenance projects.
  • Measure, cut, shape and install building materials such as wood, concrete blocks, bricks and stone.
  • Construct and repair walls, foundations, floors, roofs, frameworks and other structural components.
  • Mix, pour and finish concrete for various construction applications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain job sites, ensuring work areas remain clean, organized and safe.
  • Load, unload, transport, and properly secure tools, equipment and construction materials.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to company standards, building codes and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist with urgent or high-priority projects as required.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times while on-site.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, Mason, or in a similar construction role.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry, masonry and general construction techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Reliable, punctual and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday
  • Benefits: Statutory benefits provided
