Job Description

  • Position located in Cayman Brac *

We are accepting applications for the following position

LINE COOK

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook foods of all types on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
  • Operate and maintains all department equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Follow recipes and maintain high standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a high-volume hotel and restaurant environment as a Line Cook
  • 2 year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, or related professional area
  • Passionate culinarian with great palette and sense of presentation
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Must maintain a professional image and demonstrable leadership skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs; sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time
  • Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule and have the ability to work outside of normal business hours (i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays, as needed)
