Glazier & Metal Mechanic

We are looking for a highly experienced Glazier & Metal Mechanic to join our team at Forged Construction Ltd. This is a hybrid role that combines hands-on fieldwork in glass and metal installation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in glass and aluminum installation, metal fabrication, and construction-related projects. This role requires a strong commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, fit, and install glass systems, including windows, doors, storefronts, curtain walls, and other glazing applications.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install aluminum and metal frames, brackets, supports, and related components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications with precision.
• Operate welding equipment, power tools, and fabrication machinery safely and effectively.
• Perform accurate measurements and ensure all installations meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
• Maintain high-quality glazing installations to ensure customer satisfaction and uphold the company’s reputation.
• Work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility.
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice if emergency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Glazier, Metal Mechanic, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of glass installation systems, aluminum fabrication, and metalworking techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans.
• Experience using welding equipment, hand tools, and fabrication machinery.
• Excellent measuring, cutting, and fitting skills with strong attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of construction and installation work.
• Clean Police Record and valid Driver’s license
