General Helper

The position includes working unsocial hours including weekends and public holidays (including Christmas, Easter & New Year’s Day) as per the cruise ship schedule issued by the CI Port Authority. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work outside in all weathers and be able to stand on their feet for extended periods of time. The successful candidate will also display exemplary communication skills and be able to assist and communicate with tourists, as well as having a basic knowledge of scuba diving. The successful candidate will have a clean police record and driving licence.

Duties include but are not limited to

• All janitorial duties including sanitizing and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms and showers on a continual basis
• Power wash and keep clean exterior walkways and carpark
• Empty garbage bins and dispose of contents accordingly
• Cleaning of all internal / external windows
• Keep internal / external storage rooms clean and organized
• Continual mopping / vacuuming of floors to ensure they remain dry (after divers have returned with wet gear)
• Ongoing cleaning of kitchen, PADI training area and surrounding areas
• Daily laundry of (dive) towels
• Ensure retail sales area is kept clean and well maintained
• Liaise / Communicate with other members of staff / customers
• Must demonstrate a good comprehension of the English language with basic written/computer skills
• Receive and sign for orders and place in allocated storage
• Notify management of deficiencies and repairs when needed
• Maintain a satisfactory level of janitorial and cleaning supplies
• Ensure vending machine is stocked to a satisfactory level
• Perform all end of day cleaning duties throughout entire building and surrounding areas (inc. carpark)
• Remain physically fit and able to perform duties and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• To be familiar with and adhere to all health and safety standards and requirements of NGD Ltd, PADI and the Cayman Islands Tourism Association at all times.
