Cook/Cleaner

Job Purpose

To prepare meals for children at Kiddie Cove Early Learning Center (menu to be provided by management) and to provide cleaning and organizational services to all areas of the Center.

Job Profile

The holder of this position is charged with the duties and responsibilities of

• Preparing and serving/presenting meals
• Cleaning and organizing
• Manage Inventory and Supplies
• Health and Safety Lead

Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will complete all duties necessary, including, but not limited to:

• Cleaning the kitchen, including the areas around the kitchen, in preparation for the day
• Meal Planning
• Preparing breakfast and snacks according to Meal Plan
• Preparing and serving food for the infants at time determined by the management
• Assisting with feeding infants
• Cleaning up infant meal area, including cleaning high chairs
• Delivery of meals to staff responsible for toddlers and young children at time determined by

management

• Cleaning up dining room, meal area of the toddlers and young children, including removing garbage
• Cleaning kitchen and Washing dishes and other kitchen utensils
• Cleaning Bathrooms and Staff areas
• Interacting with infants, assisting with snack times
• Preparing infants’ bottles
• Cleaning all sleeping mats and cots as required
• Cleaning all cabinets as necessary
• Cleaning the refrigerator every Friday, throwing out old and/or spoiled food
• Preparing shopping list as required
• Responsible for grocery shopping, including selecting fresh ingredients and restocking kitchen and cleaning supplies

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

Post holder must have

• 3 years general knowledge of nutrition, kitchen safety and hygiene
• Previous experience in a School, restaurant or large Kitchen environment
• completed the Department of Environmental Health’s Basic Food and Hygiene Course & Health and Safety Course
• experience or qualifications in early childhood care and education is an advantage
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Child Safeguarding Training/Certified
• Driver’s License
• Proficient Swimmer
