Description / Specification of Position Required Knowledge

• Strong understanding of local, regional, and international construction techniques.
• Sound working knowledge of local and international health and safety procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of construction plans, tools, and equipment.

Required Skills

• Skilled in rough and finished carpentry, millwork, cabinetwork, and general finishing.
• Ability to set out construction projects and take accurate measurements both on site and from drawings.
• Competence in supervising and directing a team of workmen.
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
• Proficiency in operating power tools and construction equipment, including mitre saws, table saws, nail guns, hammer guns, and jigsaws.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to order materials locally and overseas.
• Must hold a valid Cayman Islands Driver’s Licence.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 15 years of construction industry experience, including carpentry, millwork, cabinetwork, and finishing work.

Duties & Responsibilities

The employee will be required to

• Supervise a small team of carpenters and labourers.
• Execute rough and finish carpentry works.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, architects, and engineers.
• Prepare estimates and quotations.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards.
