Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Early Years Teacher to join our school as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for Wellbeing and EYFS. This role combines high-quality classroom teaching with strategic leadership, ensuring excellence in Early Years provision and promoting a strong culture of wellbeing across the school. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the EYFS environment, supporting staff development, and contributing to whole-school improvement. This is a full-time position with a salary of $55,000 - $58,000 per annum, though part-time applications will also be considered at a pro-rated salary. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Plan, assess, and monitor pupil progress in line with EYFS standards.
  • Create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development.

Leadership – EYFS & Wellbeing (SLT)

  • Lead the strategic development of EYFS across the school.
  • Promote best practice in Early Years teaching and learning.
  • Drive initiatives that support pupil and staff wellbeing.
  • Support inspection preparation and ensure readiness in line with UK/Cayman frameworks.
  • Monitor standards, analyse data, and implement improvement strategies.
  • Mentor and support staff within EYFS and across the school.
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership, policy development, and school improvement planning.
  • Prepare for OES inspection and lead EYFS during inspection process

Wider School Contribution

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive school culture.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all pupils.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Significant experience teaching within Early Years (EYFS).
  • Experience working within the UK and/or Cayman Islands curriculum.
  • Proven experience in inspection preparation and understanding of inspection frameworks.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience or readiness to contribute at SLT level.
  • Excellent knowledge of child development and early learning pedagogy.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • SEND experience

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g. EYFS Lead, Phase Leader).
  • Experience leading wellbeing initiatives within a school setting.
