Job Description A Tiler's Helper assists skilled tile installers in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. The role involves preparing surfaces, mixing materials, transporting tools and supplies, cleaning work areas, and helping ensure tile installation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist the tiler in measuring and preparing work areas. Load, unload, and transport tiles, tools, cement, grout, adhesives, and other materials. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, leveling, and removing old flooring or wall coverings. Mix mortar, grout, adhesives, and other installation materials according to instructions. Cut tiles using hand tools or tile-cutting equipment under supervision. Hand tools and materials to the tiler during installation. Clean excess grout, mortar, and adhesive from tiled surfaces. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Set up and dismantle work areas, scaffolding, and protective coverings as required. Remove debris and dispose of construction waste appropriately. Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with loading company vehicles before and after jobs. Report damaged tools, equipment, or safety hazards to the supervisor. Carry out other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
