Skillfully perform layout design, calculation, installation, testing, programming and maintenance of low voltage systems as described below; Correctly coordinate, instruct, supervise, and transfer skill to any peers assigned to him to ensure safety and quality of work Read and interpret complicated low voltage systems specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams, and building plans Perform complicated low voltage systems layouts and calculations associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wires derating, mixed conduit fills, etc as per NFPA 70, NFPA 72, ANSI/TIA-568 Perform computer aided drafting in autocad and coordinate with customers to provide layouts Install all conduit sizes 1/2" to 4", including advanced knowledge of EMT conduit bending Install all types of commonly used low voltage systems, wiring accessories including but not limited to data, phone, tv, bms, cctv, security, sound, smart house, light controls, etc. Install low voltage systems equipment such as telecommunication room build-outs including rack construction, ladder rack installation, wire management, grounding, data plugs, outlets, fiber, cameras, card readers, speakers, control panels and etc. Perform proper cable labeling as per telco standards and as detailed in the project scope of work Perform advanced inspection, test and commissioning and programming of the above listed installations and wiring in accordance with regulations and project specifications, and guidelines using a variety of manufacturer test equipment Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance and repair the above listed installations and wiring in accordance with regulations and project specifications, and guidelines Perform project close-outs including documentation and demobilization Use safety equipment, and protective devices and equipment as per safety and health guidelines and environmental concerns Carry out mechanical fitting and assembling works including heavy lifting and pulling up to 100lb Work weekends, nights, swing shifts and holidays on extended schedule basis or as may be required Work at heights over 25’ on ladders, raised platforms, lifts, crane cages, manholes, trenches, ditches, roofs. Must be able to climb stairways of 10 story buildings Work in adverse conditions including but not limited to rain, wet, hot (+100degF), freezing (-10degF) Complete and submit paperwork on a computerized system (timecards, materials forms, invoices, etc.) according to company policies and procedures
Clean Police Record Valid Driver’s License Ownership of low voltage tools (list upon request) and battery screw gun Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 72, ANSI/TIA-568 standards Successful completion of written test Successful competition of hands-on installation test Successful completion of a recognized low volatage tech or equivalent apprenticeship and experience Identify different types of cables and wires, including colors of cables Extensive experience in commercial and residential installation Computer Literate with competency in Microsoft applications and Autocad High School Graduate or Equivalent Preferred education: Associate Degree or 2-year equivalent such as trade school or apprenticeship program Designations / Certifications: Electrical / Low Voltage / Manufacture / Equipment Certifications
