We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fiberglass Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out fiberglass fabrication, maintenance, repair, and finishing work on marine vessels and motor vehicles while ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
Perform fiberglass fabrication, maintenance, and structural repairs on marine vessels and motor vehicles. Repair cracks, holes, and other fiberglass damage using appropriate materials and techniques. Prepare surfaces for fiberglass application, including sanding, grinding, and cleaning. Apply fiberglass resin, matting, cloth, gelcoat, and other composite materials. Perform fairing, finishing, sanding, polishing, and painting of fiberglass surfaces. Install, repair, and maintain vessel systems, including fuel, water, bilge, and basic electrical systems. Conduct inspections to identify damage and determine appropriate repair methods. Operate and maintain fiberglass tools and equipment safely. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and workplace safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Previous experience in fiberglass fabrication and repairs, preferably within the marine industry. Knowledge of fiberglass materials, resins, gelcoats, and composite repair techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and repair specifications. Basic knowledge of marine systems, including fuel, water, bilge, and electrical systems, is an asset. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
