DRYWALL FINISHER

UNDER THE ALMOND TREE LTD T/A THISTLE GENERAL CONTRACTOR/MAINTENANCE

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Drywall Finisher / Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, finishing, and repair of drywall systems in residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring all work meets high-quality standards and customer specifications.

Key Roles

• Measure, mark, cut, fit, and install drywall panels according to project drawings, specifications, and framing layouts.
• Secure drywall sheets to wood or metal framing using screws, nails, and other appropriate fastening methods.
• Apply drywall tape to joints, corners, and seams to reinforce connections and prevent cracking.
• Mix, apply, and finish joint compound, plaster, or other finishing materials to create smooth, even surfaces.
• Sand, skim coat, and prepare walls and ceilings to achieve a paint-ready or tile-ready finish as required by the customer.
• Install corner beads, trim, access panels, and other drywall accessories.
• Repair damaged drywall, patch holes, and blend repairs seamlessly with existing finishes.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and address any deficiencies promptly.
• Coordinate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and other trades on site to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience in drywall installation, taping, plastering, and finishing.
• Strong knowledge of drywall systems, finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and workmanship standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality results.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Own hand tools and equipment necessary to perform drywall installation and finishing work.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Immediate start available.
