Job Description

We are accepting applications for the following position

HOTEL GENERAL MANAGER

The Hotel General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operation, including managing general property performance, profitability, revenue generation, sustaining sales and marketing strategy, conducting human resources activities, and delivering a return on investment. The holder of this position will also build and maintain relationships with key customers and oversee the sales process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the flow of labour between departments to support effective management of Labour Budget and achievement of profitability goals
  • Acts as a project manager for the execution of capital improvements i.e., renovations, reinventions, refreshes, signage, etc.
  • Manages the implementation of major brand standards
  • Identifies and champions creative marketing solutions that fit the brand and property needs
  • Delegates responsibilities for operations and projects to appropriate department heads and level of employee
  • Conducts annual and monthly business reviews and weekly property sales reviews
  • Manages relationships with decision-makers at top accounts
  • Actively engages with tourism entities and leverages market resources
  • Actively participates in the revenue management strategy of the property i.e., participate in routine calls, strategy meetings, periodic update meetings, etc.
  • Identifies key revenue generating stakeholders and customers and communicate information to sales offices
  • Coaches and reinforces employee selling strategies that take advantage of property amenities
  • Reviews and follows up on property guest satisfaction scores and comments
  • Understands and leverages sales and marketing advantages over competitor properties within the market
  • Ensures the food and beverage/culinary operation excels in meeting the target customer needs and focuses on growing revenues and maximizing the financial performance of the F&B outlets.
  • Stays aware of market trends and introduces new food and beverage products to meet or exceed customer expectations, generate increased revenue and ensure a competitive position in the market.
  • Works with the restaurant(s) leadership team to determine areas of concern and develops strategies to improve the outlet(s) financial performance.
  • Ensures ongoing development of managers and employees through coaching and mentorship, creating an environment of support and growth

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • A minimum 4 years' experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area is required
  • A minimum of 3 years in a related field holding line manager responsibilities is required; Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships
  • Working knowledge of leading hospitality software solutions including Property Management Systems and Central Reservations Systems; Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to impart impactful and inspiring communication
  • Displays excellent conflict resolution and leadership skills; and High level of strategic focus and credibility.
