Job Description

Position Summary The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day to day accounting operations of the YMCA of the Cayman Islands. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, compliance with internal controls, and supports monthly reporting and payroll functions. The Finance Manager plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. Key Responsibilities Day to Day Accounting. Maintain accurate general ledger records, record daily financial transactions and journal entries, and reconcile bank and credit card accounts. Accounts Payable. Process vendor invoices and expense reimbursements, ensure proper approvals and coding of expenses, and prepare and process payments in a timely manner. Accounts Receivable. Create and issue invoices for programs, memberships, and services, record and track incoming payments, follow up on outstanding balances as needed. Payroll. Assist with preparation and processing of payroll, maintain payroll records and employee deductions, ensure payroll compliance with local regulations. Reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, general ledger reports, and cash flow forecasts Compliance & Controls. Ensure adherence to YMCA policies and financial procedures, maintain organized financial records for audits and reviews, assist with annual audit preparation. Lead the audit process as required, including liaising with external auditors Additional Duties. Provide accounting support to programme and administrative staff, assist with special projects and financial analysis as assigned. Attend Finance Committee and Board meetings, as requested Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or equivalent designation preferred (CA, ACCA) Minimum 3–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes Experience with payroll processing preferred Experience managing a minimum annual budget of $3 million Skills & Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong ethical standards and confidentiality
