The General Manager will be responsible for the overall success of the business and for ensuring that the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long ¬term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines. In addition, the manager will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff and ventures both locally and abroad, specifically in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Must be exceptionally well equipped in working in start-up companies for the FFE, Fit out industries on a global scale coupled with specific knowledge of the UK, EMEA, LAC and JAPAC markets. Must have a wealth of experience in controlling and overseeing all business operations in FFE for the Shipping, logistics and warehousing aspects as well as the Supply chain management in their respective countries. It is essential that the post holder have a strong understanding of best practice, policies and laws within the FFE, Shipping and logistics in the UK, EMEA, LAC and JAPAC best practices. Must be able to professionally and confidently liaise with people at all levels of business with a proven ability to deal with clients face to face and remotely while forging long term relationships and managing their expectations as well as dealing with CEO level individuals in the supply chain and shipping companies. Must be able to travel extensively to meet suppliers, and to review shipping and logistics issues in the UK and EMEA.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies equivalent of 2:1 with at least ten (10) years or more of relevant work experience in the B2B and B2C for FFE, Fit out and logistics trade spread across multiple diverging markets including the commercial, educational and residential sectors working across global markets including EMEA, LAC, NA and JAPAC At least 10 years’ experience in shipping and logistics in relation to the FFE for the Com-mercial, Residential and Educational sectors and the laws regarding these facets in the UK, EMEA, LAC,NA and JAPAC. Proven high & medium end supplier chain contacts in the UK and EMEA and extensive proven experience in negotiating bespoke trade terms with suppliers in the UK and EMEA Solid knowledge of the legalities which surround the trade terms, to ensure the FFE is fit for purpose in different countries to avoid any port issues or client legal claims Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the EMEA supplier change and senior ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers all the while increasing the profit margins and the discounts applied to the account Demonstrable experience in targeting and penetrating supplier chains in EMEA, NA, LAC and JAPAC competitive global markets and comprehensive knowledge of each market’s legal requirements for FFE in each country. Experience of driving growth in a B2B and B2C start up with key focus on digital lead generation and F2F sales. Proven experience using and working in CAD and strong experience and exposure in marketing and branding of multiple channels, including PPC, paid social, content marketing, and SEO Extensive proven experience and knowledge in start-up companies and new business development with a focus on major market expansion and increased revenue channels in multiple markets such as EMEA, LAC, NA, JAPAC At least 10 years’ experience in leading and managing a growing workforce and large teams who are not only office based but travel extensively and work in different time zones. This includes managing sub-contractors working on projects for the company to ensure standards are always met. Ability to manage staff as the business grows, coaching and training staff, handling diffi¬cult conversations and building and training a competitive, high performance sales team while boosting corporate image and culture Proven ability to improve sales policies and practices. Defined the sales cycle, created accurate job descriptions and developed standards for customer relationship management.
