We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist with a minimum of 15 years’ clinical experience working across both adult and pediatric populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise, strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and a passion for delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Requirements and Expertise
15+ years in Speech Pathology in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders in both children and adults.
Strong foundation in Audiology with specific training and experience in the management of Auditory Processing Disorders (APD), including auditory training and rehabilitation approaches.
Specialist experience conducting bedside (clinical) swallow evaluations and implementing dysphagia management plans within hospital and medical settings.
Experience working across acute care, outpatient, and community-based settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists, and educators.
Clinical Areas of Practice
The successful candidate should have experience in, but not be limited to, the following areas:
Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy
Early intervention for speech, language, and communication delays
Developmental language disorders and expressive/receptive language difficulties
Articulation and phonological disorders
Social communication/pragmatic language difficulties, including support for children with autism spectrum disorder.
Literacy-related challenges, including phonological awareness and language-based learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia)
Feeding and swallowing difficulties in infants and children
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessment and implementation
Adult Speech and Language Therapy
Assessment and management of acquired communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia of speech, and dysarthria following neurological events (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury)
Cognitive-communication disorders impacting memory, attention, and executive functioning.
Voice disorders, including functional and organic voice conditions
Fluency disorders, including stuttering.
Dysphagia assessment and management across a range of medical conditions
Specialized Skills
Competence in administering and interpreting standardized assessments
Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques across the lifespan
Ability to provide caregiver, family, and staff education and training
Strong report writing and documentation skills
Experience with teletherapy and use of digital therapy tools is an advantage

Experience in managing, operating and resourcing a language therapy practice

Academic and Professional Requirements
The following academic requirements are essential
A bachelor's degree (minimum of 4 academic years) in Speech/Language Pathology
Registration at accredited healthcare regulatory entities /councils for a minimum of 15 years, and proof of compliance with annual CPD (Continuous Professional Development) submission requirements.
Proof of ownership of therapy tools and appliances
Renumeration
A monthly salary of $5,500 is offered, along with additional allowances to cover petrol and mobile phone expenses.
