Mason Helper / Carpenter Helper

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist masons with block laying, concrete preparation, mixing mortar, plastering, and general masonry work.
• Assist carpenters with formwork, framing, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installation activities.
• Prepare and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment before work begins.
• Measure, cut, carry, and position construction materials as instructed.
• Assist with the construction, installation, and removal of formwork.
• Load, unload, transport, and properly store construction materials.
• Safely operate basic hand and power tools under appropriate supervision.
• Maintain tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Assist skilled tradespersons with other construction and finishing duties as required.
• Perform physically demanding duties, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and working outdoors for extended periods.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in construction, preferably assisting masons and/or carpenters.
• Primary school education or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and practical construction experience.
