BARISTA

Job Overview

We are seeking to employ Baristas for our newly opened coffee shop, to make & serve coffee as well as cold beverages and ice cream for our customers as well as operate cash registers and maintain the cleanli-ness of the equipments. Baristas are expected to be the face of our coffee shop, and for this reason, they are responsible for going above and beyond to make sure that each customer has a fantastic experience, this not only means crafting delicious drinks but also providing excellent customer service. Baristas are expected to be knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and be able to make recommendations based on customer preferences, up-selling special items and take orders, and also be knowledgeable of how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly
• Give customers menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ra-tios)
• Fulfilling orders in a timely manner
• Prepare beverages following the recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the bar area clean and organized
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Requirements and skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Basic math skills
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Clean and organized
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs
• Reliable transportation
• Hardworking & motivated
