Job Description Emerald Landscape & Hardscape is seeking a reliable and hardworking Gardener to join our team in Grand Cayman. Working under the direction of the Landscape Technician and Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining healthy, attractive, and well-presented landscapes across residential, strata, and commercial properties. This position is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of tropical plants, flowers, shrubs, and lawn care who takes pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, trimming, and general turf care. Plant, transplant, and care for tropical flowers, shrubs, trees, palms, and ornamental plants. Prune hedges, shrubs, trees, and plants using proper horticultural techniques. Weed, cultivate, mulch, and maintain garden beds. Apply fertilizers, soil conditioners, and compost as directed. Water plants and assist with monitoring irrigation systems, reporting leaks or faults to the Landscape Technician. Identify common plant diseases, pests, weeds, and nutrient deficiencies and report concerns. Assist with seasonal planting and landscape enhancements. Safely operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment. Maintain clean, safe, and professional work sites. Assist the Landscape Technician with landscape installation and hardscape projects when required. Support hurricane preparation and post-storm landscape cleanup. Perform other duties assigned by management. Requirements Minimum 2 years' experience in gardening, landscape maintenance, horticulture, farming, or a related field. Good knowledge of tropical plants, flowers, shrubs, palms, lawn care, and general garden maintenance. Ability to identify common ornamental plants, weeds, and basic plant health issues. Experience with planting, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, and general garden care. Basic understanding of irrigation systems and the ability to identify leaks or damaged sprinkler heads. Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and hand tools. Physically fit and able to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions. Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality workmanship. Valid Cayman Islands Driver's Licence is an asset. Police Clearance Certificate may be required.
