Associate

Mourant is seeking to recruit an Associate to join its Cayman Islands practice. The role will involve advising on Cayman Islands law, with a particular focus on regulatory and compliance related matters relevant to the firm’s practice areas. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and clients on complex, high quality legal work, including interaction with regulators and regulatory frameworks applicable in the Cayman Islands.

Experience, skill & technical knowledge required

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience and demonstrate strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to manage matters with an appropriate level of independence. Experience gained in a leading law firm environment, including exposure to regulatory work, is required. In addition to:

• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
• At least 5 years’ post qualification experience
• Admission in a recognised common law jurisdiction
• Relevant experience in regulatory and advisory work aligned with Mourant’s Cayman practice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation will be in the range of USD$180,000 – USD$220,000 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Work Hours: 160+ hours per month Preference will be given to Caymanians, Permanent Residents, and RERC Holders.
