Job Description

Orchid Development is a division of the Flowers Group of Companies. It manages and provides maintenance services for Cricket Square properties, Flowers Apartments, Middle Ground Apartments, the Eucalyptus Building, and Orchid Village rental properties. In addition, maintenance services are also provided to The Club and Flowers Restauranteurs, including kitchens and associated food and beverage outlets. The Janitor position involves maintaining buildings in a clean and orderly condition and performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, and removing rubbish. Responsibilities also include cleaning and restocking designated building areas, performing routine maintenance tasks, reporting needed repairs to management, and completing heavy-duty cleaning projects as required.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures Gather and empty trash Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to the building's operating systems Requisition of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties Maintain tools and equipment Service, clean, and supply restrooms Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors Field Safety and Quality Control Follow all Health & Safety standards and procedures

Experience, Skills & Abilities

1-2 years’ previous experience Valid Cayman Islands driver’s license Physically fit and the ability to stand for long hours Ability to lift and move at least 25 pounds Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work well under pressure Ability to work shift hours; willingness to work after hours and weekends when required Applicants must provide two verifiable references and a valid police clearance issued within the past six months. The successful candidate will be required to work 45 hours per week, including evening shifts and weekends.
