Operations Assistant Manager

National Cement Ltd. T/A Kirk Concrete Invites applications for the position of Operations Assistant Manager. Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the overall performance of the operations of the Company and its affiliates, including management of:

• concrete batching mix designs, production, quality control, sales and delivery,
• bulk cement procurement, importation, logistics, inventory control and sales,
• aggregates procurement, importation, logistics, inventory control and sales,
• admixtures procurement, importation, logistics, and inventory control,
• capital and periodic budgeting,
• product pricing and cost control,
• overhead cost control,
• customer relationships,
• sales and marketing strategy,
• maintenance, utilization and security of facilities and equipment,
• staff recruitment, management and training and
• risk management and safety and environmental standards.

This is not an entry level position. The Operations Assistant Manager plays a key role in the planning and execution of the business, the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and support of its processes and systems and the analysis of its data. This position reports to the Operations Manager and coordinates and supervises the work of other managers, supervisors and affiliates. Regular operating hours are from 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Saturday (45 regular hours per week, 195 average regular hours per month), and 24/7 availability is required. Requirements We are seeking a motivated self-starter who enjoys the challenges of continuous improvement and brings meaningful and verifiable expertise to the Company. At a minimum, candidates must demonstrate:

• at least ten years of managing multi-plant, ready mixed concrete batching operations,
• either:

a) a college bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or b) a college bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering,

• competency in the handling and placement of concrete in the field and in selling concrete, cement and aggregates and in providing excellent customer service and support,
• proficiency in ready mixed concrete industry-specific software for the management of production, sales, deliveries and equipment and
• proficiency in the English language.

The salary range for this position is US$ 60,000 to US$ 70,000 per annum, plus pension and health benefits, three weeks of paid vacation and the potential for performance-driven discretionary bonus.
