Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues using diagnostic tools and physical inspection Performing routine maintenance including oil changes, tune‑ups, fluid checks, filter replacements, and tire services Repairing and replacing components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, brakes, suspension, and steering systems Conducting safety inspections and identifies worn, damaged, or failing parts Test driving vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation Maintains accurate repair records, work orders, and parts documentation Communicates repair needs, timelines, and findings to customers or supervisors Following safety procedures and keeps the work area clean and organized Staying current with new automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques Skills & Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on repair experience Ability to read repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic reports Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, and vehicle electronics Solid problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team Valid driver’s license. The successful candidate will sometimes be required to work late evenings and on weekends. Must be able to work in the heat and stand; and bend for long hours.
