Everton Campbell T/A Prudential Minor Work and Maintenance Services is seeking to hire a skilled mason with knowledge of various masonry techniques who can perform the following duties. Interpreting blueprints to determine the dimensions of structures and the types of materials required. Calculating the amount of materials necessary to complete projects. Setting up forms, patterns, and foundations, which serve as guides during the construction process. Mixing mortar and grout, and cutting and prepping building materials. Building structures by following the best practices for masonry construction. Removing excess mortar or grout. Assessing whether the structure is properly aligned throughout the building process. Maintaining tools and workspace. Cutting, shaping, and dressing materials. Lifting, carrying, and placing prepared blocks. Restoring old and worn masonry.
Proven experience as a Mason with a minimum of [5] years in the industry. Thorough understanding of masonry techniques and use of hand tools and equipment. Ability to read and follow blueprints and documentation. Strong physical condition and endurance. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions. Extensive knowledge of stone and related building materials, and the best construction practices for working with them. Math skills to calculate material needs and take accurate measurements. Ability to use trowels, masonry hammers, masonry saws, wire brushes, brick jointers, measuring lines, and other masonry tools. Spatial reasoning and observation skills to lay out forms and assess alignment Ability to move heavy materials from one location to another Familiarity with general construction and scaffolding safety, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) With a Clean Police record.
