Maintenance Person

We are seeking two experienced Maintenance Persons to support residential and commercial repair and maintenance work across Grand Cayman. This is a full-time, hands-on role based from Seven Mile Beach. The position requires six days per week and availability for weekends, evenings, public holidays and occasional urgent call-outs when required. This is not an entry-level or basic DIY role. Applicants must have proven practical experience across general maintenance, appliance repair, A/C maintenance, minor plumbing, minor electrical work and property repair tasks. Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and small works jobs across Grand Cayman Diagnose and repair common household and commercial appliances Work on appliances including washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, ovens, stoves, microwaves and water heaters Perform routine A/C maintenance, including filter cleaning, drain line checks, basic troubleshooting and identifying when specialist A/C repair is required Complete minor plumbing repairs, including leaks, faucets, toilets, slow drains, shut-off valves, under-sink issues, fixtures and outdoor taps Complete minor electrical tasks only within the limits of qualifications and Cayman Islands regulations Carry out repairs involving doors, locks, handles, hinges, cabinets, shelving, trim, furniture, railings, gates and other small carpentry items Complete painting touch-ups, drywall/plaster repairs, caulking, sealing, grout repairs, tile replacement and minor flooring repairs Handle rental turnover repairs, property punch lists and routine upkeep for landlords, property managers, homeowners and businesses Take clear before-and-after photos when required Communicate job progress, issues, materials needed and completion updates clearly Keep work areas clean and protect the customer’s property Know when work requires parts, additional approval, or a licensed specialist before proceeding Requirements Minimum five years’ experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities, construction or trade-related role Proven hands-on experience with appliance diagnosis and repair Strong practical experience with A/C maintenance Strong practical experience with minor plumbing repairs Strong practical experience with minor electrical repairs Relevant training, licences or certifications for work performed where required Clear understanding of the limits of what they are legally and safely permitted to do Valid driver’s licence Own reliable vehicle Own active phone plan with calls, WhatsApp and mobile data for job communication, photos, maps and updates Willing and able to work six days per week Available for weekends, evenings, public holidays and occasional urgent call-outs when required Able to work independently without constant supervision Punctual, honest, reliable and professional Physically fit and able to lift, carry, climb ladders, bend, kneel and work indoors and outdoors Comfortable working in occupied homes, condos, rental properties and commercial spaces Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with clients, staff, contractors and management Legally permitted to work in the Cayman Islands Preferred Experience Experience repairing laundry, kitchen, refrigeration and other household or commercial appliances Experience with rental property maintenance, condos, Airbnb properties, landlords or property managers Experience completing punch lists and turnover repairs Experience with drywall, plastering, caulking, painting, tiling, flooring, doors, locks, screens, blinds, curtain rods, mounting and furniture assembly Ability to assess a job, explain what is needed and identify whether it should be repaired, quoted, escalated or referred to a specialist Pay & Application Details Pay is CI$9/hour.
