Handyman

Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and hardworking Handyman at *JerNat Construction and Maintenance* to perform maintenance, repair, and upkeep duties for residential properties, construction maintenance projects, and the employer's private residence. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of general maintenance practices and be capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential and commercial properties. Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues, including faucets, toilets, drains, and water fixtures. Carry out minor electrical repairs such as replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, and troubleshooting basic electrical problems. Complete basic carpentry work including repairs to doors, cabinets, fences, trim, and other wooden structures. Perform minor masonry and concrete repairs as required. Conduct painting, drywall repairs, patching, and finishing work. Assemble and install fixtures, furniture, shelving, and equipment. Property Upkeep Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs. Pressure wash buildings, walkways, driveways, patios, and other surfaces. Maintain exterior areas including landscaping assistance, debris removal, and general property cleanliness. Assist with pool maintenance, including monitoring equipment and basic upkeep. Feed and care for birds and other property-related tasks as assigned. Ensure all properties remain clean, safe, and presentable. Construction & Maintenance Support Assist with small construction and renovation projects. Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely. Support contractors and tradespersons when necessary. Perform preventative maintenance to reduce future repair costs. Safety & Administration Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies. Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition. Report maintenance issues, completed work, and material requirements to management. Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used. Respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
