JOB VACANCY: MASON

Employer: ACP Construction Limited Location: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Position Type: Full-Time ACP Construction Limited is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mason with over fifteen (15) years of active experience in the construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality masonry work across various commercial and residential projects on the island.

Required Skills & Competencies

Extensive Trade Experience: Minimum of 15 years of proven, hands-on experience in complex masonry, concrete blockwork, and structural rendering. Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Advanced proficiency in reading, interpreting, and executing detailed architectural drawings and structural blueprints. Precision & Measurement: High-level capability in calculating material requirements, mixing ratios, and ensuring exact alignments (level, plumb, and square). Material Expertise: Deep understanding of various mortar mixes, concrete specifications, and localized building materials suited for tropical and hurricane-rated construction. Site Safety Compliance: Thorough understanding of, and strict adherence to, local occupational health and safety regulations on active construction sites.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Constructing, pointing, and rendering block walls, foundations, and retaining structures according to precise project specifications. Mixing mortar and concrete to correct structural specifications for different phases of construction. Laying blocks, bricks, and specialized stone facades for both structural integrity and aesthetic finishing. Repairing and restoring existing masonry structures, ensuring seamless integration with original masonry work. Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets strict client specifications, local building codes, and structural standards before subsequent construction phases commence. Assisting in site preparation, safely operating light and heavy power tools, and ensuring the workspace remains organized and hazard-free.

Work Hours

Standard Workweek: 40 hours per week

Salary & Benefits

Salary: CI$12.00 per hour (minimum) Pension, Health Insurance and Vacation.
