Food & Beverage Server

Job Title: Food & Beverage Server Summary The functions of this role will include but not be limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

• Providing exceptional customer service, being attentive to the customers’ needs at all times and fully able to answer all customer questions with regard to all aspects of Island Naturals Menu
• Feedback customer experience comments, improvements, and ideas on a regular basis to help improve both the operation and customer experience
• Actively look for opportunities to upsell additional products through understanding options available and customer needs through engagement and active listening
• In depth understanding of ingredients, nutritional benefits and allergens for all food & drink menu items, including basic knowledge of allergens such as gluten, dairy and nuts
• Monitoring of online ordering platforms, accurately inputting orders into POS and packaging items in accordance with company standards
• Ensure adequate supply of Grab n Go food & drink items in customer facing areas
• Follows relevant policies regarding date rotation and expired goods (including baked goods, juices, Grab n Go food items)
• Partakes in inventory/stocktake as required by business operation
• Maintain restocking, merchandising display standards and cleanliness of retail items and displays
• Follows in house ordering procedures to ensure full stock of retail and operational supplies
• Follows relevant financial policies and procedures with regard to cash handling and cash/payment management
• Complete end of day financial process and all associated procedures
• Keep working area clean and tidy throughout the workday, maintaining health and safety standards.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as relevant
• Feature in social media/marketing as required
• Assist with kitchen duties (including washing dishes) and storage duties as and when required
• Work seamlessly with all IN employees including colleagues, departments and leaders
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Additional duties may be assigned as required by business operation

The incumbent must have the following skills and experience

• Minimum 3+ yrs. experience working within a commercial restaurant.
• Minimum 3+ yrs POS and cash handling experience
• Knowledge of specialty drinks (e.g. coffee/tea/cocktails) is considered an asset.
• Flexible to work across a multitude of shift times including morning, evenings, weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and all bank holidays
• Knowledge of vegan/vegetarian/health food/allergens is considered an asset
• Polite, welcoming, friendly, and courteous manner
• Able to handle all interactions with colleagues and customers in a professional manner.
• Able to use up to date technology including tablets, POS, WhatsApp and online ordering platforms
• Able to function well in a fast paced, busy environment
• Able to learn about ingredients, menus, and dietary restrictions, converting this into seamless and knowledgeable advice for customers.
• Able to pass basic role specific knowledge review
• Flexible and capable of working in a variety of tasks when required (cash handling, answering telephone, taking orders, cleaning, washing linens) and multitasking
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
• Physical ability to work on feet for minimum of 8 hours and perform variety of physical tasks including: move tables/chairs, take out garbage, assist with shipment boxes, etc.

Compensation package on offer for the role includes an hourly salary of CI$8.00. Additional benefits include company discount, vacation, health insurance, pension and all statutory benefits required under the Cayman Islands Labour Act.
