This 6 month locum, full-time position would suit an experienced registered veterinary nurse, aspiring to the knowledge and standards of a Tier 3/AAHA hospital or similar. Duties and responsibilities expected of a registered veterinary nurse including medical (O tube management, U Cath management) and surgical nursing (familiar with needs of challenging orthopedic cases or complicated soft tissue cases) including Anesthesia, Radiography and dental radiography, Laboratory, Client Education, some reception duties along with emergency care after-hours. Experience teaching student veterinary nurses would also be a great asset. We would hope for a minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in first opinion/referral practice. As island life requires self sufficiency, we do provide an equally-shared after hours service to support our clients at night and over the weekend, in case of emergency. Two full time positions are currently available as we are preparing to replace our current locum nurses.
