Mason/Carpenter

Big Youth Construction- is seeking to employ a highly experienced and skilled Masons/Carpenter to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated professional capable of delivering high-quality work.

Required Skill and Experience

The candidate should have at least 5 Years experience and will be responsible for the layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include cutting and measuring materials according to a client's requirements. We require a Mason who can cut, dress and lay stone, and who is proficient with both modern power tools and traditional hand tools. Masons can expect to work in all weather and with various materials, lift and carry heavy objects, and read and assess technical drawings. Successful Carpenter/Mason should have a love for traditional techniques, a keenness for learning, exceptional problem-solving skills, and should have a natural talent for working with their hands. Ideal candidates will have completed should be physically fit and able.

Carpenter’s Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
• Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
• Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
• Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
• Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects

Mason’s Responsibilities

• Maintaining tools and workspaces.
• texturing and polishing stone blocks, installing dressed stone, mixing cement and mortar
• Lifting, carrying, placing prepared blocks, cutting, shaping and dressing materials.
• Reading and following technical drawings
• Mixing cement and mortar
• Restoring old and worn masonry

Compensation & Benefits Salary: Minimum $13.00 per hour Salary: Maximum $15.00 per hour Hours: 45 hours per week Benefits: Health Insurance, Pension, and paid vacation provided in accordance with the Cayman Islands Labor Law.
