The successful applicant will be required to perform duties that include, but are not limited to, installing foundations and constructing, repairing, and maintaining structural frameworks. Responsibilities will include the installation and finishing of exterior partitions and drywall, the installation of windows and doors, the erection of sub-roof structures, and the installation of ceilings and roofing systems. The applicant will construct and install wooden structures such as roof frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work, as well as prepare and build decks, staircases, cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation. Additional duties include installing fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and door closers; selecting lumber of the appropriate size and strength for each project; and following blueprints, drawings, and specifications prepared by construction professionals. The successful applicant must ensure that all work is completed in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards and must possess knowledge of the DOKA formwork system for the assembly, installation, and dismantling of formwork used in concrete construction. The applicant may also be required to perform other carpentry and construction-related duties as assigned.
