Emil H. Whittaker T/A Whitaker Construction is looking for a skilled, experienced carpenter/mason.
Manage building materials, machinery, and tools in accordance with project plans and specifications. Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. Install and dismantle concrete forms and concrete mixing. Perform minor plumbing and electrical work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation. Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required. Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials. Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment. Compliance with local building codes and health and safety regulations. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects. Maintaining tools and workspaces. Cutting, shaping, and dressing materials. Lifting, carrying, and placing prepared blocks. Reading and following technical drawings. Training apprentices. Mixing cement and mortar. Restoring old and worn masonry.
High school diploma. Good communication skills. Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination. Knowledge of mathematics. Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.) Ability to read technical documents and drawings Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times Good knowledge of English. Good physical condition and endurance. With a clean police record.
