Shift Engineer

• Position located on Little Cayman*

We are accepting application for the following position

SHIFT ENGINEER

The Shift Engineer is required to organize, coordinate and supervise the operations of the power station (which includes the generators, auxiliary equipment and distribution systems located at the plant) in a safe and efficient manner during the assigned shift.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• To ensure that the company’s health, safety and environmental policy is adhered to
• In charge of running the power plant and all associated equipment, including the distribution systems within the generation

site

• Operational management, including effective dispatch and the provision of technical support for staff in relation to the plant and equipment being operated.
• Timely notification to maintenance personnel of equipment issues and failures
• To carry out testing of Emergency procedures
• Contributes to the station planning process and working alongside the Operations shift team to ensure adequate continuous operating cover
• Capability to implement emergency plans
• Lead continuous improvement of the performance of the equipment
• Communicate with engineering colleagues and support functions to ensure continuity
• Other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude of equipment and how to properly operate plant equipment and systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, other shift engineers and plant personnel.
• Must demonstrate initiative and be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to analyze plant operations and offer suggestions to improve operational efficiency.
• A valid Cayman Islands Driving License.
