Job Description

Chappa Auto is looking for an Inventory Clerk who will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories. The role involves monitoring stock levels, conducting inventory counts, receiving shipments, organizing stock, and supporting the branch’s overall operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts and supplies against purchase orders and delivery documents.
  • Accurately enter inventory data into the inventory management system.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper labeling of all inventory items.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management when reordering is required.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform any other inventory-related duties assigned by management.

Parts Handling & Storage

  • Store parts safely and efficiently to prevent damage or loss.
  • Ensure inventory is rotated and managed according to company procedures.
  • Assist in locating and retrieving parts for customers and staff as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse \ storeroom.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, transfers, returns, and adjustments.
  • Prepare inventory reports as requested by management.
  • Process defective, damaged, or returned parts in accordance with company policies.

Customer & Team Support

  • Assist the team in fulfilling customer orders.
  • Support the marketing manager in identifying fast and slow-moving parts
  • Assist in promotional campaign when required
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company policies and procedures related to inventory control.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Report damaged inventory, safety hazards, and operational issues promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience relevant to the role with previous experience in inventory control preferred.
  • Experience in an automotive parts environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move inventory items as required.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in a parts store and warehouse environment.
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Occasional overtime may be required during inventory counts and peak business periods.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary: CI$393.75 – CI$472.50 per week (based on experience)
  • Working Hours: Monday - Saturday (45 hours per week)
