Job Description

This job is a multi-purpose position that does include Security Officer, Purchasing Clerk and Airline Agent. Descriptions of each follow below:

The Security Officer will be partial responsibility for the following areas

  • Check passengers boarding passes
  • Check passenger baggage using X-ray devices to detect prohibited and dangerous items.
  • Provides security protection for commercial aviation, aircraft and passengers.
  • Assist the airport checkpoint personnel.
  • Screen passengers and visitors for weapons, explosives, or other forbidden articles to prevent articles from being carried into restricted area of air terminal, pat downs, performing any combination of following tasks.
  • Use metal detectors and X-ray devices for inspection/ screening passengers.
  • Check the Airport Identity Card for restricted areas.
  • Maintain, operate and test security equipment and or act upon any equipment failures or performance deterioration in accordance with departmental instructions.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service acting in a professional manner at all times, in line with the Customer Service Commitment
  • Control/ Monitor access into restricted areas of the Airport.

The Purchasing Clerk will have partial responsibility for the following areas

  • Maintain system of ordering materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensures accuracy of all procurement orders. Invoice problem resolution. Confirmation of order quantity, pricing, and availability. Order follow-up (telephone/email communication).
  • Creation of Local and International purchase orders. Communication of orders to vendors. Sorting out shipping rate for the most competitive rate.
  • Organizes storage and cataloguing supplies/equipment in accordance with department.
  • Work with accounts payable to all vendors.
  • Sorting out invoices to be the most accurate for customs clearance. Documentation and filing for custom clearance. Clearing goods/commodities from the C.I Government
  • Various breakdowns of expenses for goods. Preparing documents for goods /commodities shipping overseas.
  • Clearing and receiving/offloading containers for shipments. Check all deliveries/packages and distribute appropriately
  • Working with spreadsheets, purchasing ledgers, journals and QuickBooks
  • Assisting with the organizing of fundraising charity events, such as the Flowers Sea swim.
  • Co –ordinate, organize and participate in activities and projects that promote and improve awareness of the company.
  • Assisting in related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

The Airline Agent will be partial responsibility for the following areas

  • Dealing with passenger inquiries about flight departures and arrivals
  • Checking in passengers and giving seat numbers
  • Providing boarding passes and luggage labels
  • Telling passengers about luggage restrictions
  • Weighing baggage and collecting any excess weight charges
  • Taking care of people with special needs, and unaccompanied children
  • Able to announce incoming and outbound flights
  • Handle cash, credit cards, and personal check transactions with accuracy and properly account for all collections and conduct the appropriate airline close out procedures.
  • Possess ability to greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to use airline computer systems to work functions.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to stand in one location consistently for long hours (4-5 hours at a time)
  • Must be able to arrive at work on a regular and timing basis

Requirements

 A pleasant personality, people oriented, excellent customer service skills with a polite and professional approach and ability to communicate effectively with the coworkers and follow instructions of the seniors and maintains an understanding of and follows all applicable policies and procedures.  Willing to work shift system including long hours, reporting for duty early in the morning and working late shifts including weekends, holidays and days off as needed including hurricane preparedness and other national disasters.  Reliable and Dependable. Excellent track record of punctuality and regular attendance.  Strong oral, reading, written, communication, comprehension and math skills  The ability to solve problems and to deal tactfully with upset or angry individuals.  Computer literate with strong proficiency and skills of accounting software, Microsoft office etc.  Be able to work in a goal driven environment and under strict deadlines and multitask and manage numerous priorities at once and provide positive and constructive feedback  Must be detailed oriented proficient and comfortable performing math computations and reconciliations.  Has a good understanding of accounting principles, practices and customer services practices  Willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure heat, dust, loud noises etc.  Physically fit and strong, able to lift 50 pounds comfortably.  Must always be safety-minded while working.  High stress tolerance and ability to work under pressure situations and ability to work with minimal supervision.  Ability to work individually or part of a team  Willing to undergo a regulatory background check in particular verifying every month for the last five years in writing, rigorous classroom sessions and written exams with 80% pass mark etc.  A valid driver’s license with clean driving record would be an asset.  Visa for USA/Cananada/England or ability to obtain.  Ability to meet all mandatory regulatory requirements  Vaccinated or will to be vaccinated against COVID-19  Clean police record and must be willing to undergo pre and post employment random drug tests This is a full-time position (45 hours a week) and requires 10 years’ experience.
