Janitor

Company: Davenport Property Management Services Ltd. Position: Janitor Employment Type: Full-Time Hours: 45 hours per week Salary: $8.75 per hour Job Summary Davenport Property Management Services Ltd. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene across assigned facilities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, follow safety procedures, and demonstrate flexibility in work schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, and maintaining various floor types.
• Safely use and handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with MSDS guidelines.
• Operate electrical cleaning equipment while adhering to safety procedures.
• Follow building security protocols and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality when cleaning clients’ offices.
• Complete basic incident and maintenance reports.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of janitorial experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual handling tasks
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to take direction and communicate effectively with management and team members
• No allergies to strong cleaning chemicals
• Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, public holidays, and on-call shifts as required

Additional Requirements

• Clean Police Clearance
• Complete Medical Declaration Cover Letter
• Valid Driver’s License (optional but an advantage)
• Flexibility to work any day of the week, including availability for out-of-hours and emergency callouts.

Salary & Statutory Benefits

• Salary: CI$8.75 per hour; health and pension in accordance with the law.
