ICOA Cafe is seeking an experienced line cook to join our talented team and assist in preparing meals according to our standard recipes.
Make specials, prepare all items before breakfast and lunch start. Must follow recipes, food safety protocols, and portion control guidelines while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked. Preparing simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces. Making sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. Cleaning prep areas and taking care of leftovers. Stocking inventory and supplies. Cooking menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
Must know sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. Must know how to use blenders, slicers, ovens, stoves, etc. Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Must know basic knife skills. Should have basic knowledge of Food terminology. In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Aptitude for multitasking. Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team. With a clean police record.
