The Mason/Carpenter position includes but is not limited to
Experience installing milliwork.
Construction of formwork
Vertical shoring and scaffolding for buildings
Ability to use many hand and power tools to cut and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. Commonly used hand tools are squares, levels, and chisels, and power tools are sanders, circular saws, and nail guns
Experience using material effectively to reduce waste.
Fabricate, alter, repair, and maintain walls, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, bathrooms showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes, and other related structures or surfaces
Lay blocks or bricks following plans or drawings
Determine work requirements and sequence of masonry/ tile assignments through review of work orders, plans, or drawings
Layout work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares, and levels
Mix cement using hoes, cement mixing equipment and/or hand tools
Cut or break bricks and concrete using hammers, powered abrasive saws, paving breakers, drills, and/or hand tools
Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges
The position requires
More than 5 years of experience as a Mason/Carpenter
High school diploma or work-related experience in the construction of buildings is required
