JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our vibrant Culinary Team. The Kitchen Steward will play an integral role in maintaining cleanliness whilst organizing our kitchen, cafeteria and supporting our culinary team. Additionally, the Kitchen Steward will be responsible for reporting any issues or shortages to management plus assisting with opening and closing shift tasks as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities for the Kitchen Steward position include but not limited to the following:

• Efficiently handling the dishwashing function for our kitchens.
• Polish and count plates for daily restaurant and banquet services.
• Support the set-up of employee cafeteria and report any issues arising to the chef.
• Maintain Inventory and stock kitchen chemicals, cleaning products etc.
• Check, receive, and put away kitchen items as needed.
• Ensure floors and kitchen are kept clean at all times.
• Notify chef of any required kitchen maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of mops, brooms, chemicals, etc.
• Polish and count plates for daily service (breakfast, lunch, dinner, restaurant banquets).
• Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1-2 years Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher experience in a Luxury Hotel kitchen environment required.
• Prior experience working with industrial chemicals required.
• Must be able to lift, carry kitchen supplies and equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of cleaning products a plus.
• Candidate must speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to stay calm under pressure in noisy, fast-paced environments.
• Should be able to handle large volume of requests and handle in a timely manner.
• Must be flexible to work all required shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Pay range is C.I $6.56 - $7.00 hourly, plus a share of the gratuities pool. This is a Full-time role with potential of working up to 45 hours weekly Benefits will include Health Insurance, Pension, Vacation & all other benefits as required by Cayman Islands Laws.
