Marine Parts Salesperson

This is a full-time on-site role located in George Town, Grand Cayman. We’re seeking candidates with knowledge of boat equipment, marine inboard and outboard motors, fishing equipment and marine accessories. The applicant should also have experience working in retail, good customer service skills and knowledge of operating a computerised parts catalogue and Microsoft Office. They must also have good communication skills, dependability, and be able to work Monday to Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Being punctual and properly attired
• Greeting customers upon their entry into Scotts Marine
• Working the sales counter and assisting customers
• Sales of marine engine parts and accessories
• Sales of boating equipment and accessories
• Assist service department with finding and providing parts for use in the workshop
• Cleaning and stocking shelves, pricing items, rotating stock
• Invoicing and cashing out customers
• Answering the telephone (within 3 rings)
• Receiving stock
• Being knowledgeable on inventory to be able to assist customers
• Any other relevant duties that may be assigned to you from time to time

Essential Qualifications

• Knowledge of boat equipment, marine inboard and outboard engines, fishing equipment and marine accessories
• 2-3 years of experience working in a retail, or similar, position
• Experience operating a computerised parts catalogue
• Good communication skills and dependability
• Must have a valid driver's license and operable vehicle (or willingness to obtain one)

Working Conditions

• Work is performed primarily in the retail showroom and parts storage facility.
• Regular interaction with customers, suppliers and technician.
• Use of computers, inventory management systems, telephones, and point-of-sale equipment
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and handling of marine parts and inventory
• Standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods
