An Assistant Chef ensures the kitchen is orderly and assists Cooks in preparing and arranging food. Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices.
Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
Ability to operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, including banquets and special events.
Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, portion controls, and kitchen procedures.
Strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food products and kitchen supplies as required.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workstation and assisting with nightly kitchen closing procedures.
Ensure all utensils, equipment, preparation areas, and work surfaces are properly cleaned and sanitized according to company standards.
Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, split shifts, and public holidays.
