Eye Health Clinic Cayman is seeking a motivated, reliable, and patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician / Health Care Technician to join our growing specialist ophthalmology team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career within ophthalmology and healthcare. Full in-house training will be provided for suitable candidates; therefore, previous ophthalmic experience is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will support ophthalmologists and nurses in delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, laser treatments, and minor surgical procedures. Responsibilities include performing ophthalmic investigations such as visual acuity testing, optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual field analysis, intraocular pressure measurement, keratometry, fundus photography, and other diagnostic assessments. The post holder will prepare patients for examinations and treatments, assist during procedures, maintain and calibrate clinical equipment, accurately record patient information within electronic medical record systems, and contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the clinic. Applicants should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Previous experience within a healthcare setting, certification in phlebotomy, IV therapy, or Basic Life Support (BLS) would be advantageous. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, regulatory approvals, and Cayman Islands work permit approval.
