Carpenter

A private Landlord with a portfolio of residential rental homes and properties in the Cayman Islands is seeking to immediately hire experienced and dedicated tradespeople to form a core maintenance and renovation team. We are looking for skilled Carpenters to handle all aspects of property maintenance, repairs, and renovations for our properties. Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of rough and finish carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, trim work, door and window installation, cabinet installation, deck construction/repair, and general building maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
• Maintain and repair wooden structures and fixtures across all properties.
• Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify necessary maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and fix urgent issues (e.g., leaks, damage) promptly and efficiently.
• Manage and maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on time, and safely, adhering to all local building codes and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the landlord and other team members.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in the advertised trade, preferably in residential or commercial maintenance/construction.
• Relevant trade certification or equivalent vocational training is highly desirable.
• A valid Cayman Islands driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations applicable in the Cayman Islands.
• Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions common to the tropics (heat, humidity, rain).
• Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and possess a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
